The Catalan Police arrested 18 suspected drug traffickers tied to 350 kilos of cocaine hidden in 692 electric motors proceeding from Panama.

According to reports, the shipment was loaded into containers in Panama, transported by sea to Hamburg, Germany and then moved by road to Barcelona in northeastern Spain.

About 500 grams of 80 to 90 percent pure cocaine were stashed  in each motor´s axis which was cleverly covered with steel cable.

Investigators started looking into the operation in September of last year when members of the Catalan police and the Customs Surveillance Service of Catalonia in Barcelona intercepted a truck loaded with 80 kilos of cocaine hidden in 162 electric motors.
