Colombia’s president-elect, Juan Manuel Santos, arrives in Panama tonight to talk bilateral issues with President Martinelli on Friday.

Santos is traveling around Latin American before taking on the Colombian presidency starting August 7.  He arrives from Mexico where he met with Mexican President Felipe Calderon, writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez and World Bank president Robert Zoellick.

In somewhat related news, Venezuela broke off relations with Colombia today after Colombia told the Organization of American States that Venezuela is providing a safe haven to hundreds of leftist guerrillas.
