American Airlines Celebrates 20 Years in Panama

American Airlines announced extended service to Texas in celebration of its two decades in Panama.

Due to the success of the past few years, the airline is increasing the frequency of flights to Dallas on Monday, Thursday and Sunday, said Patty Andrade, CEO of American Airlines in Panama.  American Airlines has also not ruled out the possibility of implementing new routes, additional to its three daily flights to Miami and three weekly flights to Dallas, La Critica reports.

In airline related news, the Panamanian government received bids from companies interested in supplying international flights for state officials for the 2010-2011 period.  KLM, Avianca, Delta Airlines, Taca, Copa Airlines all tendered for the $10 million contract, some even offering two to 40 percent discounts on fares, said Eldis Ivan Sanchez, the General Director of Public Procurement.
