Panama Banking Wires Will Go Underground
In January, Panama’s Public Services Authority will begin burying the visually unattractive electric cables in Panama City’s banking district.
This first phase will cost $19.5 million and will be followed by $12 million wire concealment in the Colon Free Zone and $5 million each for the cities of David and Santiago.
The authority also plans to form a committee to evaluate putting wires underground in other areas of the city – taking landscaping, urban planning, construction as well as environmental and visual pollution into consideration.
