The severed foot found behind the Union Club last week belonged to 18-year-old Manuel Gonzalez Quijada.

His neighbors from Sector 3 of the 24th of December neighborhood say Gonzalez Quijada was quiet and reserved.  He studied law and political science and the University of Panama and worked the 6 p.m. to midnight shift at a supermarket.  He was not seen alive after attending the Feria de la Rumba in the Atlapa Convention Center on November 14.

On Wednesday, the Institute of Legal Medicine determine that Gonzalez Quijada was butchered post-mortem, and National Police divers are searching for additional evidence around Boca La Caja, an area just off the Southern Corredor where authorities suspect a person dedicated to butchering bodies lives.
