A calf with two heads has been birthed to a small Los Castillos de Rio de Jesus farm in Panama’s western Veraguas province.

The animal, named Spot, weighs 70 pounds and is still alive, but having a difficult time breathing.

Feliciano Castillo, a Los Castillos resident, said that the community is hoping the calf will survive.

Residents also say that this is the first time something like this occurs but believe it could be a genetic change resulting from the crossbreeding of races.

La Critica reports.

“Spot”, what a boring name. They should have named it “Poly”, short for Polycephaly, the condition of having more than one head. Are they going to bring it to the surgeon that separated the Pana-Siamese twins a few months ago?
