Taiwan Harnesses Sun to Power Panama Farms
Taiwan’s Technical Mission is promoting the use of clean energy by installing the first of 15 solar panels in western rural Panama.
The sun-generated energy will be used to light fields and animal pens, operate wells and power irrigation systems.
Edwin Goty, an engineer with the Ministry of Agriculture, says that there are plans to install 25 panels throughout the country.
The first phase of the project costs over $500,000 and could expand if successful.
