Landfill Affecting Panama’s Pacific Beach Hotels
Pacific beach hotel clients are complaining about the flies, smoke and foul odors proceeding from the Rio Hato landfill in Panama’s Cocle Province.
Although the Ministry of Health ordered the closing and relocation of the dump site a year ago, area hoteliers say the situation is worse than ever. The site has been a trash repository since 1984.
Some of the Rio Hato hotels include The Decameron, Playa Blanca, Nikki Beach and the Bristol Buenaventura.
