Colombian Drug Lord Turns Himself In
Colombian drug kingpin Julio Alberto Lozano Pirateque, known as “boss of bosses,” turned himself in to the U.S. authorities in Panama on Wednesday.
Lozano, who is also known as “Patricia”, commanded the world’s biggest drug traffickers including Daniel “El Loco” Barrera, Luis Enrique and the Brothers Comba.
He allegedly collected money from various criminal gangs and purchased drugs wholesale from the Colombian guerillas while maintaining close relationships with the Mexican drug cartels. Over the last 10 years, he operated fairly anonymously, exporting 912 tons of cocaine around the world and laundering at least $10.5 million.
Spanish-language media has not yet indicated why Patricia gave himself up in Panama.
