Today  more than a hundred retirees met at the Plaza 5 de Mayo to continue in their quest for a $50 increase to their pensions.

During the protest, Eladio Fernandez, leader of the Independent Retiree Association, complained that President Ricardo Martinelli has given increases to everyone including the police, private enterprise, public servants and the 70-and-older who have never contributed to Social Security.

“The President has not even been able to say that this mouth is mine,” Fernandez said.

The leader of the retirees also stressed that his group would take to the streets everyday until they receive their long-promised answer.

“They will have to take us out of here dead,” he added.
