Shootout on the Zona Viva Nightclub Strip
On Sunday, Jorge Clemente Lemos, age 23, took three bullets as he danced in Panama’s Zona Viva nightclub row on the Amador Causeway, TVN Noticias reports.
He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. The shooter, Xavier Serrano, was detained with a 9 millimeter gun and six munitions.
Reacting to the events, Zona Viva business owners met for hours and agreed to install surveillance cameras and build a wall parallel to the fence around the back of the nightclub strip.
Bar owners insist Zona Viva is still a safe place to have fun.
Incidentally, just last weekend, two people were shot and killed in a Calle Uruguay nightclub across town.
