Comptroller General Workers Intoxicated by Cleaning Product

Ten bureaucrats from Panama’s Comptroller General’s office are in stable condition after being intoxicated by a cleaning disinfectant in their work area.

Six of the bureaucrats have been released while four remain under medical supervision, according to a Comptroller General release.

The intoxication incident occurred in the area where the bureaucrats are tabulating data collected from the census performed in May of this year, just four months ago.

The preliminary census results published on the government’s Census 2010 website indicate that census takers tallied 1,056,208 homes and counted 3,322,576 perople – 1,672,568 men and 1,650,008 women.
