License Plate Stickers Released This Month
Although license plates will not be issued this year in Panama because of order delays, the 2010 decals are ready to be distributed over the next month.
On August 9, the municipality will begin issuing decals for January license plates. It will then continue to distribute decals for plates registered in subsequent months progressively in eight day intervals, according to a Mayor’s Office release.
“For example, on Monday, August 16, February stickers will be delivered, then March stickers on August 23, and so on,” said City Treasurer Emerado Martinez through a Mayor’s Office release.
Meanwhile, Pedro Pablo Rodriguez, treasure of the Chapala vocational school that makes the license plates, said that both the January to September 2010 plates and decals are ready to be picked up and that the rest would be ready next week, La Prensa reports.
Documents needed to renew license plates in Panama include the vehicle registration, a valid insurance policy, proof of a safety inspection of the car (revisado vehicular), personal identification, payment and copies of the original documents.
