Isla Cañas Gets Own Security
Isla Cañas, a sleepy Pacific island rimmed by mangrove coasts and broad beaches known for turtle nesting, now has its own security for the first time.
Six police officers working in three-person shifts, will be patrolling the island community and protecting its 600 residents.
The police presence comes eight days after unknown assailants lit head of the Isla Cañas Wildlife Refuge Margarita Moreno’s car on fire.
