Notorious Gang Leader Gets Stiffed
Mario Enrique Patiño Fuentes, a.k.a. Cholo Tieso, was shot more than 28 times at close range in front of his Valle Dorado home in La Chorrera Saturday night.
The infamous Panamanian gang leader was released from the La Joyita jail on January 12, 2010 where he was doing time for robbery. He had also been investigated for crimes against property and collective security, and made the news for his San Bernardino, Arraijan-based gang activities.
Cholo Tieso, which translates as Stiff Dark-Skinned Person, received the alias for his unflinching demeanor.
There were two parties on his street that night, therefore residents were alarmed to find out that the gunshots were not the fireworks they thought they heard, La Critica reports. Authorities are investigating.
