Moises Palacios Castillo, known by the alias “Carrot” and mythic leader of the “Kill or Die” gang of Curundu, was shot to death Monday night in the Plaza Edison parking lot.

Carrot was hit seven times inside a blue BMW not far from a nightclub – three in the right arm, two in the chest and two in the left arm.  He was only 32 years old at the time of his death, but had already been shot several times on other occasions, accused of unproven homicide and arrested.

In 2008, he completed a sentence for his gang involvement and reportedly took over Kill or Die leadership in 2009 after the assassination of previous leader Fabian Arroyo.  Kill or Die is allied with the Bagdad, Vietnam 23 and The Pentagon gangs.

The attackers are not known, but revenge killings are feared.
